Dr Robert Inglis

BVSc (Hons I) PhD BCom CPA

Dr Robert Inglis graduated from the University of Queensland with first class honours and initially practised in private mixed practice, equine practice and companion animal practice, and then working as a government vet, a general manager of a veterinary products distributor and wholesaler and a veterinarian in the pharmaceutical industry. He has always had a keen interest in pathology.

He re-entered the University of Queensland to undertake research work and was awarded a PhD while also lecturing and tutoring emerging vet students. He continued in applied field research whilst providing selected technical advice to veterinarians across Australia. During this time he also completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Queensland and became a registered certified public accountant, a CPA.

In 1973 he returned to companion animal practice in the Wooloowin and Kalinga flats. That practice has developed into Wooloowin Animal Hospital, a centre of excellence where selected vets are invited to practice.

Senior Veterinarian

Dr Bryson Leo

BVSc (Hons)

Dr Bryson entered the University of Queensland after completing a Diploma in Veterinary Bioscience. and graduated with honours for his Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree.

He was invited to practice as a Senior Veterinarian at Wooloowin to express his keen interests in companion animal medicine and surgery.

Dr Bryson has been a research intern at the St. Louis Zoo in Missouri, USA and had served as a veterinary technician in an animal medical centre. An internationally experienced clinician and surgeon has advanced clinical and surgical skills, and up to date technologies of blood tests, x-rays, ultrasound, surgery etc.

A particular skill is devising bespoke management and treatment programs for individual pets and individual owners.

Scuba diving and fishing activities are much cherished by this high achiever, who has also been a commercial photographer, videographer, chef and medic in his pre-vet life.

Senior Veterinarian

Dr Daniel Burns

BVSc (Hons)

Dr Daniel graduated from the University of Queensland as a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with honours. He is an experienced clinician who has practiced in a mixed-animal country practice in rural Victoria. He has been invited to Wooloowin Animal Hospital as a Senior Veterinarian.

Dr Daniel offers tailored care to every animal. It is no surprise that animals and their owners love his caring and easy-going nature.

This proud owner of a majestic ex-racing greyhound (Rooey) is also an avid Aussie Rules fan. Daniel is a true outdoors worshipper who enjoys camping and fishing and has also been known to run competitive marathons for fitness and fun.

Veterinary Manager

Dr. Philip Macpherson

BVSc (Hons I)

Dr Phillip graduated from the University of Queensland with first class honours.

His remarkable thought processing and observational skills have been put to good use contributing to research for the Australian Institute of Bioenergy and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at St Lucia. He contributed to dog cancer research which was presented at the American College of Veterinary Pathologists Annual Meeting in 2015.

An active cat fosterer and a proud cavalier(s) owner, he is a very willing and a keenly interested small animal veterinarian for furry, feathered or scaly pets.

He has brought to Wooloowin Animal Hospital a pointed interest in medical conditions in cats, all types of pathology and general medicine for companion animals. As well he is an experienced and competent surgeon.

Philip is forever seeking more economical and more effective ways of treating dogs and cats, to save owners money yet giving effective treatment at home and having fewer visits to vets.

Outside practice life Philip has extensive interest in the arts, performing and fine, cats, dogs, and all things digital

Our Hospital Location

Dr Robert Inglis commenced his veterinary career as a sole practitioner practice at 90 Kent Road Kalinga in 1973. He grew a loyal following from the surrounding suburbs and wider Brisbane area in his 50 years of experience and dedication to small animals. The hospital is modern and uses current digital equipment which supports more accurate diagnoses.
